Hi Haley! How are you?
Hello! I’m great thanks, how about you?
We’re good thanks! We are currently loving your new album ‘All of the lights’!  A little birdy told us that you worked with Sam Cole that must have been so exciting!
It was amazing, he has been an idol of mine for so long! I still can’t believe we worked together
What was it like to work with him?
It was amazing!! He was so nice, and really helped me open my eyes When working in the music business.
Do you have any stories behind your music?
Most of my music is based on my life growing up and my life nowadays, thinking about memories really helps me write the lyrics to my songs.
Last month we added your song ‘I see your life’ to our song favourites column, we love it! Was there a message behind it?
I saw that, thank you so much! I based the song of my mum, she has done so much for me.
That’s so nice! What are you favourite tracks at the moment?
I can’t get Billie Shawn’s song ‘Living’ out of my head and I also love Reece Falls new track ‘Falling’. They’ve definitely been my 2014 January Favourites.
Good choices! We heard you’re attending this year’s music awards, what are you most excited for?

No! I’m not good at choosing so I haven’t found the perfect dress yet but hopefully I’ll be able to find something soon.
Will you be making an appearance on the red carpet this year at the music awards?
I will be, I’m so nervous but I’m sure it’ll be fun.
I’m sure theres nothing to worry about, we know you’ll be amazng!

It’s amazing how much you’ve achieved at such a young age.

Photos I Have Not Chosen and why

I did not use this image as the lighting is bad and the model is moving while the photograph is being taken.

The model was not ready for this photo to be taken and moved while the photograph was being captured.
I could not use this photograph for my cover as we can not see the females face.

Chosen Locations

Magazine Shoot Locations

I chose the location for my magazine as it fit well with my rock genre as the background is pretty dark and the lighting works with the pose of the model, however a slight bit of editing had to be used when using the images to my magazine.

Proposal Form

Describe your ideas for your brief: The idea for my magazine genre is Rock/Pop. I did some research on magazines which are similar so I had more knowledge so that I knew exactly what I need to make my magazine good. Through my research I found the typical conventions of a music magazine with the rock/pop genre.

Genre/Sub- genre: I will focus on a rock/pop genre for my magazine. I will have a range of pop and rock music.

Target audience: My target audience for my magazine is around the ages of 15- 26, I decided this as I wanted my magazine to aim to a younger audience.

Major Conventions: Throughout my magazine I have stuck to using the typical conventions, this includes me using a main central image, masthead, headings, sub-headings, a barcode, a contents page, double page spread.

Conventions: I have decided to stick with the conventions that rock magazines nowadays use. I have used a similar colour pallete to ‘Q’ magazine.

Original images: I have used a natural outdoor background to my image.

Potential difficulties: One of the main problems I had was getting the correct lighting for my images as they have to be good quality.

IPC Media - Part Two

The 1800s
• The company formed in 1853 and within a year the company became the largest newspaper in Europe, containing 24 pages. It had its own representation throughout the Crimean War.
The 1920s
• Odhams launched a monthly home in opposition to Newnes' Homes and Gardens. The first editor of the new addition advocated against "the erection of hideous houses which go to mar the beauty of what would under any other circumstances be the most ideal and beautiful environment," this was contrasting the governments promise to build 100,000 houses as part of post-war planning.
The 1940s
• IPC's woman's weeklies played a role throughout the war. There duty was to keep to morale of Britian's women and also supplying essential information for the government.
The 1960s
• Life for magazine staff would never be the same again following the 1963 formation of the International Publishing Corporation, bringing together the three rival magazine companies, Newnes, Fleetway and Odhams Press. Traditional competitors found themselves all working for the same parent company - Ideal Home and Homes & Gardens, Woman and Woman's Own, to name but a few.
The 1980s
• IPC announces the formation of European Magazines Ltd., a joint venture company with Groupe Marie Claire to launch the UK edition of the international title Marie Claire in 1988.
The 2000s
• New millennium, new name - IPC Magazines is renamed IPC Media in 2000, a new identity to go hand-in-hand with a strategy based on being a brand-centric business.
The 2010s
• In January 2010, IPC Media restructured around three key audience groups: men, mass-market women and up-market women.

The Bauer Company | Part One

Bauer,
Four generations of the Bauer Verlagsgruppe family have managed this company. The company began as a a small printing house, and the publishing group went worldwide and became a media company. The Bauer company created 300 magazines in 15 different countries, as well as being published as TV and radio stations. The company started in the UK with its first beginning of the Bella magazine in 1987. Bauer expanded in the UK and became the UK's biggest publishing
group with the purchase of Emap Consumer Media and Emap Radio in 2008.

Bella-
In 1987 Bella was Bauer's first venture into publishing in the UK. Bella sought to make an impact in the UK magazine market by mixing previously unseen real-life editorial with the classic elements more traditionally associated with women's magazines such as fashion and beauty, cookery and practical home features.

Take a break and that's life!
In 1990, Bauer gained attention with the launch of Take a Break magazine. Take a Break sits in the true life market of the women's weekly sector and quickly became market leader with an ABC audited circulation of over one million sales. Up until 2005 there were only three women's magazines dedicated to delivering true life editorial, one of which was Bauer's sister title, that's life! (launched in 1995). Since then the sector has become increasingly competitive with a series of high profile launches that saw the number of titles in the market expand to seven magazines all fighting for market share. Take a Break has retained its lead position in the market, and a number of brand extensions have seen H Bauer's business expand to include puzzle magazines that carry the Take a Break name.

TV listing titles-
1991 saw H Bauer's first foray into TV listings publishing with the launch of TVQuick magazine. (Prior to the deregulation of TV listings in March 1991, BBC listings had been restricted by law to Radio Times and ITV/Channel 4 listings to TVTimes.) TVQuick ceased publication in July 2010. In 1999 H Bauer launched TVChoice at a much lower price point than other titles on the market. TVChoice overtook its main competitor in the February 2008 audited ABCs and has been the number one weekly newsstand magazine in the UK ever since. In September 2003, H Bauer launched Total TVGuide to cover the increasing number of programmes available on Freeview and satellite or cable services
